Over their 30-year history, Century has shown its commitment to community support and dedication to social and cultural responsibility. To formalise this commitment, Century established The Next Century Trust (ABN 73842240998), a not-for-profit with DGR status. We are proudly addressing Australia's cultural infrastructure gap and offering communities fresh avenues to support local artists, focusing on the new and emerging talents. 

The Victoria Theatre Revitalisation project is the first major capital project to be managed by the Next Century Trust. The cultural, economic, social, and well-being outcomes from this project are immense and will result in:

• A positive economic impact of $19,627,949 per annum ongoing by its third year of operation,

• Generate 55 full time equivalent (FTE) jobs during construction and 65 FTE jobs for the theatre’s ongoing operation, and

• Will have the capability to program over 280 nights a year to showcase Newcastle’s emerging talent and host international acts.

The Next Century Trust has a proud history of supporting local talent and community initiatives. Through the trust we have been able to offer venue hire of the Victoria Theatre free of charge to local theatre companies, including HER Productions for their adaptation of ‘Uncle Vanya’ (2022), and hired new and emerging local talent provide a platform to develop their skills and gain exposure at various events hosted at the theatre. These initiatives that have been running concurrently with our major Victoria Theatre capital project reflecting our ongoing dedication to fostering a vibrant and sustainable cultural landscape to the local community.
